This afternoon at home, coming back from another short photo excursion, I found something very neat crawling up my trousers. Usually, I'm not afraid of spiders. Not at all. But this never-before-seen animal, approaching on my right hip... Bet you all could hear the scream?
It was a female wasp spider (Argiope bruennichi, in German: Wespenspinne), not too long ago almost unknown on this side of the Alps. But climate change brings new visitors from southern Europe.
