Hamburg, May 2014

It seemed we don't have much luck with wheather when it comes to city trips. But then we were told that rain in Hamburg is not a bug, it's a feature. Great...! Still we got soaked on the second day of our visit - after 30° C the first night, sitting outside in a bar at downtown until midnight. But everything else was awesome. We had excellent food at the Bullerei, enjoyed terrific cocktails at Germany's best bar, the Lion, and watched a splendid display of fireworks on the Außenalster as a celebration of the Japanisches Kirschblütenfest, right in front of our hotel.
Hamburg
is worth more than just one visit - and we'll come back!

Day trip to Berlin

Since Ronja always wanted to see the Brandenburger Tor, we booked a day trip to Berlin. Bad planning: the day before we arrived, it was 23° C and sunny - the day, we were there, it was 5° C, windy and it rained most of the day! Nevertheless, we made it to see the Brandenburg Gate and its "Room of Silence", we visited the Reichstag, climbed the stairs of its cupola, ate currywurst at Biers (Friedrichstraße), denied the 150-meters-line in front of the GDR-museum, took a boat-trip with on the Spree-river, visited the "Tränenpalast" ("Palace of Tears") at Friedrichstraße station and learned a lot about the German capital and its rich history. 18 hours, after we started from our front door in Blaubeuren, we came back at 0:15 - exhausted, tired, but happy!

Barcelona 2014

Georgios arrived via Athens from Chania, Crete. Sara and Fabian arrived directly from Catania, Sicily (Italy). Ines and me, we came from Stuttgart, southern Germany. Our mutual goal: Barcelona, Spain. Three days of sightseeing and astonishment, of food and drinks, of talking and laughing. Great!
