TiltShift III

It's cold, it's raining, it's windy outside. Instead of strolling the clime I'm playing tilt & shift with some elderly pictures of my stack.

Different motives: 1 - City of Souda, Crete, Greece. 2 - Railway station of Blaubeuren, Germany. 1 - Waterslide at Legoland, Guenzburg, Germany. 4 - At the Stuttgart airport, Germany.

Found an eft

Strange. Right behind our house we found another small animal we never saw before. There were just no amphibians in the streets of Stuttgart (population 590.000) where we used to live for the last couple of years... Well, I had to lock it up and according to wikipedia, what we found was a young newt, an eft. Very cute, very cool - literally - and after a few minutes (and pictures) we let it free again. So don't worry. (2009 October 8th)

TiltShift I

On my daily way to work, there's a bend in the road (B 28) to Blaubeuren after which I see a section of the landscape which looks like a model railway. Actually it looks exactly like nature the architects copied an artificial landscape of a "Maerklin" model railway. I tried to take some stills of it. But the impression didn't work at all in the pictures. Only after I found and used this fantastic little programm on the internet, you might get the impression of what I mean. Picture was taken in September 2009 and I edited it with http://tiltshiftmaker.com (this is a recommendation!).

Close encounter with a wasp spider

This afternoon at home, coming back from another short photo excursion, I found something very neat crawling up my trousers. Usually, I'm not afraid of spiders. Not at all. But this never-before-seen animal, approaching on my right hip... Bet you all could hear the scream?

It was a female wasp spider (Argiope bruennichi, in German: Wespenspinne), not too long ago almost unknown on this side of the Alps. But climate change brings new visitors from southern Europe. More information may be found here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argiope_bruennichi) or here: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wespenspinne (German).

Schelklingen

2009 September 13, hiking. Rock formation in the woods between Blaubeuren and Schelklingen, near the famous cave "Geissenkloesterle".
